Stefano Bombardieri
Nasce a Brescia nel 1968.
Figlio di scultore, è nel laboratorio del padre Remo Bombardieri che affina le sue conoscenze artistiche attraverso la sperimentazione e l’uso di tecniche e materiali diversi,
dapprima concentrandosi sulla scultura figurativa, fortemente influenzato dai maestri del XX° secolo come Boccioni e Balla.
I successivi esperimenti lo portano a sviluppare un approccio profondamente filosofico nell’arte, scegliendo di focalizzarsi su temi come il tempo e la sua percezione, l’uomo e il significato dell’esistenza e l’esperienza del dolore nella cultura occidentale. I protagonisti delle sue opere sono grandi animali come balene, rinoceronti, coccodrilli ed elefanti che si ritrovano a essere sospesi, intrappolati o schiacciati da montagne di bagagli. Il loro aspetto realistico con dettagli accuratamente riprodotti e plasticamente perfetti rappresenta a tal punto la verità e la durezza della vita da sconfinare in una dimensione surreale affrontando il rapporto tra realtà e finzione, vita e immaginazione. Essi rappresentano l’anello di congiunzione tra l’uomo e l’ecosistema naturale e, proprio per la loro espressività e per il loro volto umano, sono “metafora della complessità esistenziale umana”. Esattamente come l’uomo sono alla continua ricerca di un precario equilibrio spirituale contro le barbarie di cui sono vittime. La metaforica ed innaturale posizione di sospensione in cui si trovano è il simbolo degli inaspettati accidenti imposti dalla società contemporanea.
Dagli anni ’90 Stefano Bombardieri espone sia in spazi pubblici che in gallerie. Le sue installazioni, oltre a quella di “Gaia e la Balena” presso la nostra galleria a Laveno-Mombello, sono state situate nel centro di Ferrara, Faenza, Bologna, Saint Tropez e Posdam. Nel 2009 ha allestito la sua mostra personale “Te animals count down” nella suggestiva cornice di Pietrasanta.
Oltre a numerose mostre personali e collettive in tutto il mondo, ha partecipato più volte alla Biennale di Venezia e le sue opere sono state esposte in importanti gallerie d’arte in Italia e all’estero.
Bombardieri continua a lavorare in Italia, Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Inghilterra, Grecia, Libano, Giordania, Stati Uniti, Emirati Arabi.

Son of a sculptor, in the laboratory of his father Remo Bombardieri, He refines his artistic knowledge through experimentation and the use of different techniques and materials, first focusing on figurative sculpture, heavily influenced by 20th century masters such as Boccioni and Balla.
Subsequent experiments lead him to develop a deeply philosophical approach to art, choosing to focus on themes such as time and its perception, man and the meaning of existence and the experience of pain in Western culture. The protagonists of his artworks are big animals such as whales, rhinos, crocodiles and elephants who find themselves suspended, trapped or crushed by mountains of luggage. Their realistic appearance with carefully reproduced and plastically perfect details represents the truth and harshness of life to such an extent that it crosses over into a surreal dimension by addressing the relationship between reality and fiction, life and imagination. They represent the link between man and the natural ecosystem and, precisely because of their expressiveness and their human face, they are a “metaphor for human existential complexity”. Just like man, they are constantly looking for a precarious spiritual balance against the barbarities of which they are victims. The metaphorical and unnatural position of suspension in which they find themselves is the symbol of the unexpected accidents imposed by contemporary society.
Since the 90s Stefano Bombardieri has exhibited both in public spaces and in galleries. His installations, in addition to “Gaia and the Whale” in our gallery in Laveno-Mombello, have been located in the center of Ferrara, Faenza, Bologna, Saint Tropez and Posdam. In 2009 he set up his personal exhibition “Te animals count down” in the suggestive setting of Pietrasanta.
In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, he has participated several times in the Venice Biennale and his works have been exhibited in important art galleries in Italy and abroad.
Bombardieri continues to work in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, England, Greece, Lebanon, Jordan, United States, United Arab Emirates.
